How To Utilize Instagram Nametags To Reach Your Target Follower

If you’re a business owner, you already know that being active on social media is no longer an option, but a marketing necessity. Indeed, when you intend to broaden your audience and potential customers, a good first step is to get more followers on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. And because Instagram has 58 times more engagement for every follower compared to Facebook, one of your priorities should be strengthening your presence on the platform.

Now there are newer features like Instagram Reels or the Layout Mode that you have probably already explored and tried, but there are also some previously launched tools that can help you grow your Instagram audience that you may have overlooked. One of those tools is the Instagram Nametag.

WHAT ARE INSTAGRAM NAMETAGS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHY DOES YOUR BRAND NEED ONE?

An Instagram nametag is an image that people can scan to follow you in an instant. Think of it as a QR code for Instagram that you can use to gain more followers.

You might think there’s not much to this tool because people can just type in your username and search for it. But of course, not everybody has the time (or willingness) to do all that.  Other factors could make this simple task challenging, too, like complicated spellings, abbreviations, underscores, and the like. That could even cause you to lose potential followers.

Well, an Instagram nametag can solve all that for you. Having one means you are doing your part in making it easier for people to follow you and connect with you. It can be the very thing that could take your follower count from hundreds to thousands.

INSTAGRAM STATISTICS FOR 2020

Before we get more into Instagram Nametags, take a look at these figures:

  • 71% of businesses in the US say they use Instagram, and 80% believe Instagram engagement to be the most important metric.

  • 50% of users of Instagram follow at least one brand.

  • According to researchers, the average post gets a 4.3% engagement rate. If you want a hundred likes or comments, you are going to need over 2,325 followers.

  • 60% of Instagram users discover new products on this social media platform.

How You Can Get More Followers With Your Instagram Nametag

Those numbers just prove how important it is that you gain as many followers on Instagram as you could. Here are some tips on how you can do that using your Instagram nametag.

#1. MAKE YOUR INSTAGRAM NAMETAG DIGITALLY VISIBLE

There’s a reason there’s a share button right within your Nametag (It’s the icon of the upward-pointing arrow on the upper right corner). You can share it with all your contacts via text message and, of course, on all the social media platforms you use. If you are planning to build a website, you can include it during the design stage of your site. If you already have one, you can replace the dated handle you have on display. You may also make it a part of your email signature.

If you use a chatbot, you might want to incorporate your nametag in your initial response to encourage those who are already taking an interest in your brand to check you out on Instagram. Simply put, every opportunity you have to get someone to see and scan your nametag digitally, go for it.

#2. HAVE IT ON DISPLAY AT SOCIAL AND BUSINESS EVENTS

Do you participate in bazaars or trade shows? Or perhaps you conduct workshops or attend conferences frequently. No matter what event it may be, if there’s a way you can put your Instagram Nametag on display, go ahead and do it. If you’re hosting the event, you can have a printed card standee on every table. If you have a booth, have your nametag printed on a poster and put it up where people can easily access it.

Here’s another great idea: offer an incentive to those who would actually scan and follow your account. Sweet treats, discount coupons, or even pens could work wonderfully.

#3. HAVE IT READY ON YOUR PHONE

You can make it your wallpaper or your screensaver. However you want to do it, just make sure it’s readily available in case you get the opportunity to have someone scan it to follow your Instagram account. You’ll never know, you might make acquaintances while you’re out shopping – you don’t want to lose those prospects by asking them to write down your handle while you dictate the spelling. That’s just so 2016.

#4. SLAP IT ON SOME SWAG
Do you give away promotional merchandise? Don’t forget to have your Instagram nametag printed on every item, whether it’s a shirt, a water bottle, a bag, or others. You might also want to include a small card with a quick guide on how to use that nametag for those who don’t know how to use it yet.

#5. MAKE SURE PEOPLE SEE IT IN YOUR STORE

If you have a physical store, you have to ensure that your Instagram nametags are strategically displayed throughout the space. You can have them printed on stickers, which you can put on your display cases or have a card placement by the counter. It could be easier to encourage people in your store to follow you since they’re probably already interested in what you have to offer. Following you on social media to be updated on sales and fresh drops would be natural for both regular and seasonal buyers.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Instagram nametag is a nifty tool that provides an easy and efficient way to have more Instagram followers who would connect with you. Of course, you should also be smart about where you display your nametag. For example, your small business card would be a perfect medium, but a huge billboard (which is usually excellent for exposure) is not. So make sure that wherever you display them that they are noticeable and, more importantly, scannable, otherwise the point of having your nametag posted is lost. Also, don’t always assume that the people you’re presenting your nametag to know how to use it. Be polite about it, and educate them if needed. And finally, make sure that you have amazing content waiting for them when they follow you.

So what do you think about Instagram nametags? Do you already have one? Do tell us how it’s working for you!
