Three Things You Should Know About Snapchat

The pictures sent on Snapchat may disappear, but these new features are here to stay. Don’t get lost in all of the updates rolling out, or give up on trying to understand the changes. We’ve come up with a few things that will help you stay current on what’s happening in the world of Snapchat.

1. There is a new universal search function.

Snapchat unveiled a new feature to make finding groups, friends, Discovery publishers, and Stories easier. Now, no matter where users are in the app, there will be a universal search bar at the top of the screen. The goal of this feature is to allow users to quickly navigate through the app without needing to know the layout.

2. There is a new chairman.

CEO Michael Lynton will be stepping down from Sony Entertainment in order to serve as chairman of Snap, Inc. His experience allows him to help the executive team with the company’s strategy. Lynton will have a large role in guiding Snapchat as its public offering gets closer.

3. You can use Spectacles for your business.

Showing your followers, audience, or customers your company’s culture, events, and celebrations, creates a closer bond with them. They will begin to see you as a group they can look to for inspiration and advice. Using Spectacles could allow you to avoid low-quality webcam footage, or use an extra hand during new product promotion/unboxing videos. The video automatically adjusts to fit the vertical orientation of phones.
