On a daily basis, social media users are constantly discovering new things. From the latest Facebook apps, to the constant updates on Twitter, the digital realm is full of surprises. However, what's the latest in some of the more current trends? Here are two recent updates in social media news:

Breaking Up Is Easier To Do

We all know the drama that relationships can cause. On social media, it's nothing short of a forest fire. However, Facebook is currently working on a feature that lets you limit the amount of posts you see from your ex. The best part though, is that this is done without unfriending or blocking them. According to Facebook Project Manager Kelly Winters, the app's purpose is to help people end their relationships with a better sense of self-control. I doubt anyone in their right mind would call ending a relationship "easy", but this Facebook feature takes things in an interesting direction.

LinkedIn Lives Up To Its Name

As of December, LinkedIn has redesigned its mobile app with plenty of new features. To name a few, there are five tabs on-screen, a private messaging feature, and a much easier way to browse through your connections. It's definitely worth checking out and in some ways, provides an even better experience than using the site through a web browser. Perhaps in the future, this will be the new way to use LinkedIn. If anything, it's interesting how LinkedIn isn't even a social media site (not specifically), and yet it's gaining several social media features. InMail isn't exactly ideal for chatting, but adding a private messaging system to the mobile app is a great opportunity for interaction, and makes things a lot more convenient.
