Comparing Hootsuite Plans and Their Features
By Ashleigh Cue | @Eucacue
With so many social media platforms, it can get really difficult to manage them all. Luckily, there are tools that make it easier. Hootsuite is a social media management tool that helps you manage several different platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WordPress. Hootsuite offers many great tools, such as scheduling updates, monitoring mentions, tracking hashtags and more. Many of Hootsuite’s great features can be accessed for free. That being said, businesses may want a few of the features found in the more advanced Hootsuite plans. There are three different plan options that Hootsuite offers: free, pro and enterprise. They are all the same basic features; however, additional ones get added on as the plans progress.
The Free Plan
Hootsuite’s free plan is geared more for individual users than for businesses. In the free plan, you can link three social media profiles. You do have access to the basic functions of all Hootsuite features. You can schedule updates, publish a status update to your different platforms or even see basic analytics. You are limited to the number of updates you can schedule and how you can view your scheduled updates. The free plan allows you to hook up two RSS feeds, which will post any updates associated with the feed.
The Pro Plan
This plan is more advanced than the free plan and has access to more features that would be beneficial to small businesses and professionals. The Pro plan allows you to link 50 different social media profiles. Some additional features included in the Pro plan is: the ability to view your scheduled posts by day, week or month; unlimited RSS feeds; and bulk message scheduling, up to 350. Also, the Pro plan allows you to have one additional user. You can increase the number of users (up to 10) for an additional cost per user. Included in the Pro plan is one free enhanced analytics report. Like with the users, you can purchase additional reports - up to nine. Hootsuite Pro also has enhanced security and access to Hootsuite’s Premium Apps.
The Business Plan
The Business plan is listed alongside the Pro plan, but has a few more features that would benefit small businesses or agencies. For instance, it starts with five additional users instead of one and has a publishing approval feature. The plan also provides six social campaign templates that can be used by 5-10 users and a vanity URL. In addition, the Hootsuite Business plan provides social media certification, 24/7 priority support, and custom set-up and training. However, the best feature would probably be the real-time analytics.
The Enterprise Plan
As the title of the plan indicates, this plan is geared towards large businesses or agencies. It allows for a large team, department, and regional account management. This plan allows you to share easily, delegate tasks, and control who has access to what project. There is no limit to the number of users or accounts you can have, unlike the other plans. A unique thing about the Enterprise plan is that it is customizable: allowing you to tailor the plan and its features.
Hootsuite: Cost and Comparison
The only visible pricing that Hootsuite currently provides is for the Pro plan, which starts at $9.99 per month. The business and enterprise plans are going to be more costly, but they do provide more tools geared toward businesses and agencies. Each plan has its own merit and all provide great tools for managing social media accounts. Choosing what plan to use ultimately depends on what your needs are.
