So how can you use Pinterest like Joanna to showcase your own skills? Here are a few tips!

  1. BOARDS, BOARDS, BOARDS

Joanna has 35 boards, and each one is very specific. For example, one board is titled "The Magnolia Market," while another is titled "Porches." Simple yet specific. What’s even more important is that you keep your Pinterest organized and easy to maneuver.

  1. Avoid constant self promotion

Not every board is about Joanna, Fixer Upper or Magnolia Market. She certainly does a great job of displaying her own products, but she also pins things she loves! This adds more character and personality to her Pinterest.

  1. LINK!

Make sure to have your Pinterest linked to your website. This makes it easy for people to find you without the hassle of searching. Also make sure the boards that do display your product or service link back to your website.

  1. Listen to your audience

Joanna’s fans want to know everything from how she set her table for her most recent dinner party to her wardrobe on Fixer Upper. She has Pinterest boards to give them just that!

  1. Create a lifestyle

It’s obvious people love Joanna’s unique southern lifestyle that she displays on Fixer Upper. Her Pinterest reflects that lifestyle in a big way. She has created a brand image and has continued to build that image on Pinterest. The items she pins relate to that southern lifestyle and viewers can achieved that lifestyle by purchasing her products!

  1. Have fun!

Not everything on Joanna’s page is all design! Show your personality and your other interests! Joanna loves to pin fun recipes for sweet treats and snacks. This shows more of her personality than just home design and renovation.

  1. Be consistent

Just like any other social network, it’s important to post, or rather pin, regularly. In Joanna’s design world, things are constantly changing, it’s crucial she stays relevant and current with her design boards.

Pinterest is a great platform to show your goods and your personality. Be sure to keep a good mixture of fun and business to keep your followers coming back for me. If you don't have time to keep up your Pinterest page, consider allowing an outside company, like Social Media Delivered, help you.
