Hootsuite Rebrands Image For A More Mature Look

Heather Luna | @heatherluna14 Hootsuite, the popular social media management system, underwent a rebranding with changes to its logo and new additional features.

The brand's mascot and logo, Owly, has changed from the original brown owl to a more serious and sophisticated black and white owl. The interface color scheme has changed from blue and yellow to black and white as well. This is the company’s first rebranding since it was launched six years ago.

“Use of social media is far more sophisticated today and our brand identity needs to represent the way the company, and the market, has matured,” said Dee Anna McPherson, VP of marketing at Hootsuite, to The Drum.

Hootsuite also added a feature that suggests content worth sharing. Users can go to the new "Suggested" tab and turn on content recommendations for certain topics. They will then receive updates on those topics. If users see one they like they will see a possible time to tweet it and a way to edit the update. After that they can schedule the tweet.
