Facebook to launch new Celebrity App - Last week we mentioned how Facebook was adding features to drive their celebrity engagement, and this news confirms their commitment. "We are currently testing some mobile features designed to help public figures interact with their fans," said Facebook. So until you land that American Idol spot you've always dreamed about, your going to have to stick to the regular app like everyone else.

Israel to recruit university students to be "Social Media Agents" - The students who participate will be covertly acting as the public diplomacy arm of Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu’s office, and will receive full scholarships for their service. But what exactly is "public diplomacy?" Sources in the office described the units duties to include dealing with "diplomatic- and security-related issues, efforts to combat boycotts of Israel, anti-Semitism and the de-legitimization of Israel."

Google Plus and SoundCloud team up - As Google Plus plays catch up to social media leader Facebook, they now allow users to embed SoundCloud music tracks in posts. Snoop Lion already embedded a post. Who is Snoop Lion you ask? The Rastafarian reincarnation of Snoop Dogg of course. Here is one of his new tracks.
