The Twitter Feature Everyone Has Been Waiting on
By Dai’Shai Logan | @Daishairenae
Everyone has used a filter at least once during their social media experience, but Twitter has just released the filter that everyone has been waiting for. No, it’s not a photo editing filter, but you may find it to be even more interesting.
Twitter’s new feature allows users to filter notifications from bots and spammers. Yes! This means no more unwanted and unnecessary spam. Due to bullying in the past, Twitter also believes that this is also a way to prevent harassment from Twitter trolls before making a decision to ban an account.
Twitter began testing the quality filter setting last year and has now made it available to all users. When turned on, the filter can improve the quality of Tweets you see by using a variety of signals, such as account origin and behavior.
In order to activate the filter, users simply go to the notifications tab in the Twitter mobile app, go to settings and turn on “Quality filter.”
The filter will not interfere with a user’s timeline, because they will simply consist of the people they decide to follow and they will only get notifications from people they follow or have recently interacted with.
This is great news for Twitter users because many of them have been waiting years for a feature like this! This will make for a less annoying and more fun Twitter experience.
